Assassin
Some rogues earn their reputation through years of patient craft: the perfect disguise, the flawless cover story, the poison blended just so. An Assassin does not merely kill—they eliminate. Every assassination is a performance, and the best performers leave no trace that the curtain ever rose.
These rogues understand that preparation is the truest weapon. Before the blade is ever drawn, an Assassin has already mapped the exits, poisoned the wine, and become someone else entirely. By the time their target realizes something is wrong, it is already over.
Assassins are not impulsive killers but meticulous professionals who treat lethality as a craft. Whether they work for coin, cause, or personal conviction, they share one quality above all others: when an Assassin is ready and their target is not, there is no contest at all.

Subclass Features
Bonus Proficiencies
3rd-level Assassin feature
You gain proficiency with the disguise kit and the poisoner's kit.
Assassinate
3rd-level Assassin feature
You are at your deadliest when you get the drop on your enemies. You have advantage on attack rolls against any creature that hasn't taken a turn in combat yet.
In addition, any hit you score against a creature that is surprised is a critical hit.
Infiltration Expertise
9th-level Assassin feature
You can unfailingly create false identities for yourself. Over the course of 7 days and 25 gp worth of materials, you establish a history, documentation, and authentic-seeming contacts for a cover identity. You can't establish an identity that duplicates any real person you know of. Thereafter, you can assume that identity as needed without fear of contradiction. You may maintain any number of false identities this way, each sustained indefinitely.
Impostor
13th-level Assassin feature
You gain the ability to unerringly mimic another person's speech patterns, writing style, and general behavior. You must spend at least 3 hours observing and interacting with the person directly.
After that time, you can impersonate them convincingly. Any creature attempting to detect the ruse must succeed on a Wisdom (Insight) check with a DC equal to 20 + your Charisma modifier.
Death Strike
17th-level Assassin feature
You become a master of instant, overwhelming lethality. When you hit a creature that is surprised, it must make a Constitution saving throw (DC 8 + your Dexterity modifier + your proficiency bonus). On a failed save, the attack deals double damage.
